SYMPTOMS

When you click a hyperlink that opens a new window for a Web page in Microsoft Internet Explorer, the URL address may be for a "redirection" page or script instead of the new Web page's URL address.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Internet Explorer Content Advisor has been turned on. The Internet Explorer Content Advisor prevents Internet Explorer from populating the Address bar with the correct URL address when Internet Explorer opens a new window through a redirection page or script.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
