OL2000: Cannot Send an E-Mail Message to Three or More Distribution Lists (822041)
The information in this article applies to:
SYMPTOMSIn Outlook 2000, when you send an e-mail message
that is addressed to three or more personal distribution lists from a
Contacts folder that you have not enabled as an Outlook Address Book, you may
receive one of the following error messages, and the e-mail message is not
sent: Access Violation -or- Could not complete the operation. One or
more parameters are not valid. WORKAROUNDTo work around this problem, you must make sure that the
Contacts folder that holds the personal distribution lists is enabled as an Outlook Address Book. To
do this, follow these steps:
- Right-click the container that contains the personal
distribution lists, and then click Properties.
- On the Outlook Address Book tab, click to
select the Show this folder as an e-mail Address Book check
box.
- Click OK.
You can add a Contact folder to your Outlook Address Book if that folder has been created in your mailbox or if the Contact folder has been created in the Public Folder Hierarchy and you have the permissions to perform that function. However, you cannot add a Contact folder to your Outlook Address Book for a Contact folder that resides in a shared mailbox. In other words, you cannot add a Contact folder to your Outlook Address Book if that mailbox was added to your profile by using the following steps:
- Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
- Click Other Control Panel Options.
- Click Mail.
- Click View or change the existing e-mail accounts, and then click Next.
- Click Microsoft Exchange Server, and then click Change.
- In the Exchange Server Settings dialog box, click More Settings.
- On the Advanced tab, click Add.
