The contents of the Packages list on the Advanced tab of the Program Properties dialog box are not sorted alphabetically (821677)



The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When you select the Run another program first check box on the Advanced tab in the program_name Program Property dialog box in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2.0, and then view the list of packages, the package list is not sorted alphabetically.

CAUSE

The problem occurs because the packages that are listed in the Package: drop-down box is sorted by package ID, not alphabetically.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next SMS 2.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.
