You Cannot Start the Getting Started Animations (821281)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional

SYMPTOMS

After you install Microsoft Windows Media Player 9.0 in Windows 2000 Professional, you cannot start the Getting Started animations.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Getting Started animations use recursive relative paths in Uniform Resource Locators (URLs). These paths permit relative path statements in HTML documents. Windows Media Player 9.0 has a new feature that blocks the use of such paths in URLs.
