The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, 64-Bit Enterprise Edition

SYMPTOMS

When you run Microsoft Exchange Server in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 or a Microsoft Windows 2000 cluster environment, and the Exchange virtual server fails over to another cluster node, CPU utilization may be unexpectedly high on the new node. This issue occurs approximately one or two minutes after the failover occurs.

Microsoft Outlook clients may also experience problems if they try to connect to the Exchange server when the server is under a heavy load and when CPU utilization remains high for a long time.
