Posting Acceptor Is Not Supported When Used with Windows Server 2003 (820988)

SUMMARY

The following are the technologies that you can use to upload files in Windows Server 2003:
  • Microsoft ASP.NET File Upload Control
    Microsoft recommends this technology. The ASP.NET File Upload control is based on the latest .NET technologies. This control uses either Microsoft Visual Basic .NET or Microsoft Visual C# .NET.
  • Microsoft Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning (WebDAV)
    WebDAV is based on industry standards. WebDAV permits users to upload and view files remotely.
  • Microsoft FrontPage Server Extensions
    FrontPage Server Extensions have been used for a long time as an upload method for updating Web sites. FrontPage Server Extensions are available for Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) version 4.0 and later.

MORE INFORMATION

As of January 2001, no shipping method exists for the Posting Acceptor. The Posting Acceptor has been retired as a product. It is no longer available as a download. Also the Posting Acceptor is not included in any current Microsoft product.
