SYMPTOMSAfter you install a Microsoft Office component through the
Install on Demand feature of Office 2003, the .cab files for that installation
remain in the "Drive_letter:\MSOCache\AllUsers"
subfolders. This symptom occurs although the installation of Microsoft Office
2003 was configured not to use the Local Install Source feature.CAUSEThis problem occurs because the Install on Demand Setup
feature of Office 2003 sets the location of the installation .cab file to be in
the appropriate subfolder of the
"Drive_letter:\MSOCache\AllUsers" folder. You cannot
bypass this setting unless the hard disk where the MSOCache files are located
drops below 1.5 gigabytes of free space. At that point, all installations will
be of the "Run from Server" type.STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.MORE INFORMATIONFor more information about using the Local Install Source
feature during an Administrative installation, view the Microsoft Office 2003
Resource Kit.
