The Full Shortcut Menu Does Not Appear in Internet Explorer 5.0 (817099)

SYMPTOMS

When you right-click an element that is on a SharePoint server Web site, the full Edit shortcut menu does not appear. Instead, a shortcut menu appears that is missing Edit Properties, View Properties, and other such menu items.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you have Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or earlier installed. The expanded Edit menu feature is only available in Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and later.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, upgrade your copy of Internet Explorer. To download Internet Explorer 5.5 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
