SYMPTOMSWhen you use the Xbox RF Adapter with your Xbox console, you may experience one or more of the following behaviors: - There is no video display.
- There is distorted or partial video display.
- A projection TV does not display the video correctly.
THINGS TO TRY- Determine whether the indicator light on the front of the console remains green or whether it blinks.
- If the indicator light repeatedly blinks green and orange, the AV connection is not functioning correctly. If this is the case, follow steps 2 through 4. If these steps do not resolve the issue, continue to step 8.
- If the indicator light remains green, continue to step 2.
- Verify that you are using a Microsoft-licensed or Microsoft-compatible RF adapter. If this is not the case, contact the manufacturer of the peripheral for more information.
- Verify that you tune the TV to the same channel as you selected on the Xbox RF Adapter. Make sure that you tune the TV to channel 3 or channel 4 as directed.
- Verify that you connected the console correctly.
- Turn off power to your TV, to your VCR, and to your Xbox console.
- Connect the RF adapter to the AV port on the back of the Xbox console.
- Connect the RF adapter coaxial cable (TV out) connector to the TV or to the VCR antenna input. Make sure that the connections are firmly connected.
- Connect the appropriate coaxial cable to the antenna in (ANT in) connector. Make sure that the connections are firmly connected.
- Set the RF adapter and the TV or the VCR to the same channel. Use either channel three or channel four. You may improve video performance if you select a channel that has no other active signal.
- If you connect your Xbox console to a TV through a VCR, DVD movies may not play because of copy protection technology. However, this does not affect gameplay.
- Try different connection configurations.
- If you connect directly to a TV, try a different TV.
- If you connect your Xbox console to a TV through a VCR, try connecting your Xbox console directly to a TV.
- Determine whether the behavior occurs with one disc, with two discs, or with more than two discs.
- If the problem occurs with only one or two discs, search the Knowledge Base for known issues for that particular disc.
- If no known issues exist, return the disc to the retailer.
- The RF Adapter may be malfunctioning.
- If a replacement RF Adapter does not resolve the issue, you may need Microsoft to repair the console.
