You are prompted to save changes when you close a Word 2002 document even though you have made no changes (816473)

immediately, you may receive the following error message: Do
you want to save the changes to
Document_Name? This behavior may occur
even though you have made no changes to the document. CAUSEThis behavior may occur if you have Smart Tags turned on.
Word automatically scans your document and tags various text items according to
your Smart Tags settings, and therefore modifies your document.WORKAROUNDTo disable the automatic text tagging by Smart Tags, follow
these steps:
- Start Word.
- With a blank document open, click AutoCorrect
Options on the Tools menu.
- On the Smart Tags tab, click to clear the
Label text with smart tags check box.
- Click OK.
