CAUSE
This behavior may occur when you try to send a message to a Novell GroupWise recipient for whom one or more of the following is true:
- The recipient address has a 32-character domain name part.
- The recipient address has a 32-character post office part.
- The recipient has a 256-character name.
This issue occurs because the code in Microsoft Exchange Connector for Novell GroupWise does not allocate space at the end of the addressing string. This causes the address to exceed the permitted character limit for a Novell GroupWise address. As a result, a non-delivery report (NDR) is generated when you send the message.

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
