Customized Reporting Options for MOM 2000 (814635)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Operations Manager 2000

SUMMARY

Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) 2000 does not currently permit you to customize existing reports.

MORE INFORMATION

To expand the reporting capabilities of MOM 2000, use Microsoft Access and the MOM Software Development Kit (SDK) to create your own customized reports. These reports interact with the Microsoft SQL Views contained in the MOM database. Customized reports are supported if they obtain information from unmodified SQL Views. A list of the SQL Views is available in the MOM SDK.

Additionally, you can use third-party reporting solutions (for example Crystal Decisions). These external solutions are supported if they obtain information from unmodified SQL Views. For information about how to link your third-party reporting solution to the SQL Views for MOM 2000, contact the manufacturer of the third-party reporting software.

As a best practice, Microsoft strongly recommends that you run reporting against the MOM data warehouse database, not the MOM production database.
