Event ID: 514 occurs when a Mobile Information Server push notification is sent to a mobile device (813874)

SYMPTOMS

The following event ID message occurs when a Microsoft Mobile Information Server push notification is sent to a mobile device: Event Type: Error
Event Source: Mobile Information Server Store Sink
Event ID: 514
Description:Unexpected content class detected for item <file://./backofficestorage/exchange.companyname.com/MBX/su/Mobile Inbox/Read%3A FW%3Amessage.EML>. This event ID message occurs on the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server computer on which the Exchange 2000 Notifications component of Mobile Information Server is installed.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if a push notification is generated for a read receipt. Mobile Information Server does not support the Report.IPM.Note.IPNRN message class for push notifications.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Microsoft Mobile Information Server 2002 service pack that contains this hotfix.
