FP2002: How to Create Custom Confirmation Web Pages (813523)

This article describes how to create a custom confirmation page based on the form data that the user fills out.

To create a custom confirmation page, follow these steps:
  1. Create the confirmation page by pressing CTRL+N.
  2. Enter in the information that you want the visitor to your Web site to see after they submit Web form information.
  3. For each form field on your Web form that you want to display on your confirmation page do the following:
    1. Use your mouse pointer to put the insertion point where you want information from the form to appear.
    2. On the Insert menu, click Web component.
    3. Under Component type, click Advanced controls.
    4. Under Choose a control click Confirmation Field.
    5. Under Confirmation Field Properties, type the name of the form field from your Web form that you want to display to the Web site visitor.
  4. Save the confirmation page to in the same location as the Web form page.
  5. Attach the confirmation page to your form. To do so, follow these steps:
    1. Open your Web form page.
    2. Right-click the page and then click Form properties.
    3. Click Options, and then click the Confirmation page tab.
    4. Click Browse, and then select the confirmation page.
    5. Click OK two times.
    6. Save the Web form page.
You can also use the standard Confirmation Page template that comes with FrontPage. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Page or Web.
  2. On the New Page or Web pane, click Page Templates.
  3. On the General tab, click Confirmation Form, and then click OK.
After the page is created, you can customize its appearance. To do so, follow the instructions for creating custom confirmation pages that were listed earlier in this article.
