AutoMovie Editing Style Elements Appear in the Movie After You Clear the Storyboard or the Timeline (812609)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional

SYMPTOMS

When you use an AutoMovie editing style for a movie that you create, and then you clear the storyboard or timeline and apply a different AutoMovie editing style, you may find that elements of the first AutoMovie editing style still appear in the movie.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if you press CTRL+A to select all the clips in the storyboard or timeline and then press DELETE to clear the storyboard or timeline. This method does not clear the storyboard or timeline of all AutoMovie editing style elements. Although all the clips are removed from the storyboard or timeline when you press CTRL+A and then press DELETE, AutoMovie editing style elements may remain.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use any of the following methods to completely clear the storyboard or timeline before you apply a different AutoMovie editing style:
  • On the Edit menu, click Clear Timeline.
  • On the Edit menu, click Clear Storyboard.
  • Press CTRL+DELETE.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
