Error message: Setup.exe file is linked to missing export kernel32.dll (811811)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install the Microsoft IntelliType or Microsoft IntelliPoint software that is included with the Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop for Bluetooth, you may receive an error message that resembles one of the following:
Setup .exe file is linked to missing export kernel32.dll.
The procedure entry point Process32nextw could not be located in the dynamic link library Kernel32.dll.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the Microsoft IntelliPoint for Bluetooth or Microsoft IntelliType for Bluetooth software is incompatible with the version of Microsoft Windows that you are running.

MORE INFORMATION

As of December 2002, the Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth is only compatible with Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 1. For more information, or to download the latest Windows XP Bluetooth update, visit the following the Microsoft Web site:

As of September 2004, the Microsoft Optical Desktop Elite for Bluetooth and the Microsoft Optical IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth will only be compatible with Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.
