Cross linked projects experience continuous calculation in Microsoft Project 2002 (810615)



The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Project to create cross project links (dependencies) between several existing projects, and then you save one of the projects to a baseline, you may experience continuous recalculation of all the linked projects. Additionally, when the continuous recalculation is occurring, you experience the following issues:
  • The Microsoft Project program window flickers on your screen.
  • There is an increase of CPU usage by the Winproj.exe file in Microsoft Project.

RESOLUTION

This problem is corrected in Project 2002 Service Pack 1.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was first corrected in Project 2002 Service Pack 1.
