SUMMARY

When run with Microsoft Windows version 3.0, the IBM 6180 Color Plotter emulates a Hewlett-Packard (HP) 7475A plotter. The IBM 6180 Color Plotter requires no specific action to switch into HP 7475A emulation; it senses incoming Hewlett-Packard Graphics Language (HPGL) code and automatically switches to the appropriate emulation.

The IBM 6180 Color Plotter is not listed as a supported device on the Windows 3.0 Hardware Compatibility List. If you experience difficulty with the 6180's HPGL emulation, you should contact your local IBM representative.

IBM has successfully tested the IBM 6180 Color Plotter using the Windows HP ColorPro Plotter Driver with the following communication port settings in Windows versions earlier than Windows version 3.0:
   Data Rate:     9600 bits per second (BPS)
   Word Length:   8
   Parity:        None
   Stop Bits:     2
   Handshake:     Hardware
				
NOTE: It is essential that Stop Bits is set to 2 or the plotter will not print.
