NOTE: The "Microsoft Works for Windows User's Guide" for version 2.x incorrectly states on page 84 that Works for Windows can import files created in Microsoft Word for MS-DOS.

Works includes an import filter for its own word processing format (.WPS) for the use with certain other programs.

To see which file filters are installed on your computer, open the Windows WIN.INI file in a text editor, and search for the [MS Text Converters] section.

If the filters for Works are not installed, reinstall Microsoft Works, select Custom Installation from the Setup Options dialog box, and select the Converters For Word Processor And Graphics check box only.
