SUMMARY

You can copy portions of a Microsoft Works for Windows 2.0 database report and paste this data into another Works for Windows tool. However, if the section of the report definition you are copying includes formulas, the formula values will not be copied correctly unless you choose Print or Print Preview from the File menu, or Copy Report Output from the Edit menu before copying.

MORE INFORMATION

To copy an entire report, simply choose Copy Report Output from the Edit menu. The Copy Report Output command, unlike the Copy command, will correctly update the formula values.

To copy only part of a database report, for example the summary calculations, follow the instructions below from the report definition screen:

  1. From the File menu, choose Print or Print Preview. This will make Works for Windows update the formulas in the report.
  2. Highlight the appropriate formulas in the report definition.
  3. From the Edit menu, choose Copy.
  4. Open the document you want to paste this data into and position the cursor.
  5. From the Edit menu, choose Paste.
If you skip step one, the data will paste into the new document using zero values or the values calculated the last time one of the above commands was chosen.
