This article was previously published under Q79376 SUMMARY
To move a field to another location in a Works database in list view:
- Select all of the field contents by clicking the field name with the
mouse, or by clicking Select Field from the Edit menu
(Works 3.0 and Works for Windows 95) or Field from the
Select menu (Works 2.0).
- From the Edit menu, click Cut.
- Select the entire field to the right of where the recently cut
information should go.
- From the Edit menu, click Paste.
Or in Works 3.0 or Works 4.0, 4.5, 4.5a for Windows 95 only:
- Select the field by clicking on the field name.
- Position the mouse pointer over the center (Works for Windows 95) or
bottom (Works 3.0) of the field name button, so that the pointer
displays the word "drag."
- Click and drag to the new location. The mouse pointer will change to
"move" as you do this.
MORE INFORMATION
If a Works for Windows 3.0 database field contains no data, you may not be
able to cut it in list view even if it has been named using the Field Name command from the Edit menu. This problem was corrected in Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a for Windows 95.
