SYMPTOMS

You cannot print gridlines from the report view in a Microsoft Works for Windows database; however, you can use the following workarounds.

WORKAROUND

Works 3.0x and Works 4.0, 4.5, and 4.5a for Windows 95

  1. Highlight the cells in the report definition screen.
  2. On the Format menu, click Border.
  3. Click the Line style you want for your gridlines.
  4. Click Top, Bottom, Left and Right, so that there is a line in each of the four boxes. Click OK.

Works 2.0

  1. From the Edit menu, choose Copy Report Output.
  2. Open a spreadsheet and click Paste from the Edit menu to paste the information into the spreadsheet. The spreadsheet may need to be reformatted to display all of the report information.
  3. From the File menu, choose Page Setup & Margins to display the page setting dialog box, and select the Print Gridlines check box.
The report will now display gridlines when printing.
