MORE INFORMATION

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

To open a file other than the most recently used file when you start Money, create a shortcut on your desktop for each file that you want to open directly. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click an empty area of the Windows desktop, point to New, and then click Shortcut.
  2. In the Command Line box, type the following line, and then click Next:

    drive:\folderpath\filename.mny

In this example, drive is the drive letter of the hard disk where the Money file is located, folderpath is the folder or the set of folders where the Money file is located, and filename is the name of the Money file that you want to open directly.
  3. Click Finish.
  4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 to create a shortcut for each Money file that you want to open directly.
To use a different icon for the shortcut, right-click the shortcut, and then click Properties.

On the Shortcut tab, click Change Icon, click the icon that you want to use, and then click OK two times.
