SUMMARY

If data that resembles the name of a month is entered into a field, Works will assume that this is the name of a month and modify the data accordingly. For example, the names April, Marc, and June may be abbreviated to Mar, Apr, and Jun, or names like Marc and Jan may be automatically expanded to March and January.

This is by design, Works makes some assumptions to make the program faster and easier to use, and sometimes the assumption may be wrong.

WORKAROUND

Enter these names as text, by starting the entry with a quotation mark (") (for example, "Marc).

Sort Problem

A more subtle manifestation of this problem is that this data is perceived by the system as a date, and sorts differently than text. For example, "Bocephus" appears before "April" when sorted.

RESOLUTION

Reenter the data as text.
