SUMMARY

When you type the abbreviation for a month in the Microsoft Works for Windows version 2.x or 3.0 Spreadsheet or Database, Works for Windows will automatically fill in the full name of the month. For example,

Jan

will be changed to

January

If the name of the month must appear in its abbreviated form, it can be entered as text by placing a quotation mark in front of the month; however, Works for Windows will only recognize the cell or field as containing text. Therefore, the cell or field contents cannot be formatted using the Format Time Date command or used as a value in a formula.
