SUMMARY

Selecting the Protect Form option in the Works for Windows Database form view disables certain format options under the Format menu, both in Form view and in List view. By design, any format change made to a field in Form view affects the format of that field in the List view and vise versa.

However, choosing Protect Form does not disable the shortcut keys. The keystroke CTRL+B will still activate the bold font format in a field even though Protect Form is selected. Also, if a date, dollar amount,or percentage is entered into a numeric field, it will change the entire field to that format.

Works 2.x

To return a field to its original format in Works for Windows version 2.x:

  1. From the View menu, choose Form.

  3. From the Format menu, choose the appropriate format.

Works 3.x

To return a field to its original format in Works for Windows version 3.x:

  1. From the View menu, choose Form.
  2. From the Format menu, choose Protection.
