SUMMARY

If you have Bitstream Facelift installed and you print from the Works for Windows version 2.0 Word Processor to a Hewlett-Packard (HP) LaserJet Series II, text may be clipped at lower resolutions. This problem only occurs with the native printer fonts, not the Bitstream fonts.

MORE INFORMATION

The above problem is caused by the Bitstream driver SHELLPRT. This driver uses a different method of obtaining coordinates, which in turn causes the clipped text problems at lower resolutions.

To work around this problem, select higher resolutions when printing. For example, use 300 dpi instead of 75 or 150 dpi.

To change resolutions, do the following:

  1. From the Windows Control Panel, select the Printers icon.
  2. In the Installed Printers box, select the LaserJet Series II (HPPCL.DRV).
  3. Choose the Configure button.
  4. Choose the Setup Button.
  5. Set the graphics resolution (for example, 300 dpi).
