SUMMARY

Some images load as a solid black screen in Paintbrush 4.0 running in color mode.

While loading the file, Paintbrush gives you the option of keeping the image in black and white or converting the image to color. Both options produce a solid black screen.

When this behavior occurs, you should follow these steps:

  1. Install Paintbrush in a two-color mode to load the image.
  2. After Paintbrush is loaded, save the image as a TIF file.
  3. Install Paintbrush in color mode.
  4. Load the TIF file as a PCX file.
The image should then load in either black-and-white or color mode.
