MORE INFORMATION

Switching Game Controllers

When you play a multiple-player game and use the keyboard as your input device, and then you try to use a controller to play a single-player game, the controller may not function properly. To work around this issue:
  1. On the Game menu, click Options.
  2. Click Controller Settings.
  3. Click the controller that you want to use, and then click Reset to Default.
  4. Click Back to save your changes and close the Controller Settings dialog box.

Multiple Game Controllers

If you install more than one game controller at the same time, RalliSport Challenge may not recognize the second or additional controllers. To resolve this issue, reset your controller settings to the default values:
  1. Start RalliSport Challenge.
  2. On the Game menu, click Options.
  3. Click Controller Settings.
  4. Click the controller type that is not recognized by RalliSport Challenge.
  5. Click Reset to default.

RalliSport Challenge will now recognize your controller.
  6. Click the Back button to save your changes and close the Controller Settings dialog box.

Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Wheel (USB)

When you use the Force Feedback Wheel, your car may accelerate in reverse during game play without any pedal input. To resolve this issue, customize your controller settings:
  1. On the Game menu, click Controller Settings.
  2. Click the Steering Wheel icon.
  3. Click Customize controls.
  4. Click Brake. (The value should change to Binding.)
  5. Press the brake pedal of your Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Wheel.
  6. Click the Back button to save your changes and close the Controller Settings dialog box.

Logitech Wingman Formula Force Wheel

When you use this wheel to play RalliSport Challenge, you may experience an unusually large volume of force feedback, which may make the game more difficult to play.

To work around this issue, with the Formula Force Wheel set as the controller, click to clear the Force Feedback check box in the Controller Settings dialog box.

Assigning Pause Button Functionality to A or B Controller Buttons

When you assign pause functionality to the A or B button on your controller, you may notice that the Pause menu opens and closes when you press the button one time.

Note It is better not to assign pause functionality to the A or B button on your controller.

Game Controller Does Not Work in Instant Action

In this situation, there is nothing wrong with your computer, and you are doing nothing wrong. RalliSport Challenge (PC) is designed to work only with keyboard input when Instant Action is turned on.

Using Fast Scroll to Navigate Game Menus

When you scroll through the menus in RalliSport Challenge (PC), you may see that your input device performs a fast scroll motion through the options. This behavior may continue to occur even when you press different keys on your keyboard. To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods:

Method 1: Remove Multiple Game Controllers

This issue may occur if you have two or more controllers connected to your computer. To resolve this issue, unplug the game controller that you do not want to use in the game. If this does not resolve this issue, go to method 2.

Method 2: Calibrate the Game Controller

If you do not have multiple controllers connected, calibrate your controller in Windows, and then make sure that you only see one device listed in Game Controllers or Gaming Options. To resolve this issue, calibrate the game controller:
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Game Controllers.
  3. Click the gaming device that you want to calibrate, and then click Properties.
  4. On the Settings tab, click Calibrate.
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the calibration process.
If this does not resolve the issue, go to method 3.

Method 3: Contact your Hardware Manufacturer

If the issue continues to occur, contact the game controller manufacturer to obtain the latest drivers. For information about how to contact the manufacturer, see the "References" section of this article.

Logitech MOMO Force Feedback Wheel

During a race or at the end of a race, if you rotate the wheel to the left as far as it goes, the menu will stop recognizing all input (keyboard or mouse) until the wheel is rotated to center. There is currently no way to work around this problem.

Documentation Corrections

The printed English version of the RalliSport Challenge (PC) manual that came with this game may contain errors on pages 13 and 23. These errors have been corrected in the .pdf version of the manual, which is in the Manual folder on RalliSport Challenge Disk 3.

Page 13 states:

Camera Options: Select which camera angles you want to turn on. With camera angles on, you can toggle through them during a race by pressing the Y button on a gamepad.

Page 23 states:

After you have selected which camera angles are turned on, you can toggle through them during a race by pressing the Z button on your gamepad.

In fact, the X button is used to toggle camera angles during a race.
