SYMPTOMS

A child incorrectly types a Web page address (URL) and receives the following error message:
Because of the restrictions your parent has placed upon your account, you don't have permission to view this Web page.
Although the parent granted the child permission for this URL in MSN Parental Controls, the child cannot view the Web page because the URL is not valid (no such address exists).

CAUSE

A child whose MSN account is under a parent's control typed a URL that is not valid, received the Ask Permission page, and then sent a permission request to the parent, which the parent granted. Because the Web address does not exist, the child cannot access the page even though the parent granted the child permission to view the page.

THINGS TO TRY

  1. Ask your child to send the URL again, but first check the URL to make sure it is a valid address.
