FIX: Users are Redirected to the Template URL Instead of the Posting URL After Forms Authentication (330806)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Content Management Server 2002
This article was previously published under Q330806 SYMPTOMS
When forms authentication is enabled on a MCMS 2002 Web site, authenticated users are redirected to a template URL instead of the MCMS 2002 posting URL after the users are successfully authenticated in the server. The URL looks something like the following:
http://<server_name>/TestCases/Authentication/Scenarios/SimpleExternal/SimpleTemplate.aspx?NRMODE=Published&NRORIGINALURL=%2fSimpleExternalScenario%2fPartners&NRNODEGUID=%7b739E6434-2CC0-46D3-ABF4-973EFD9A473D%7d&NRCACHEHINT=NoModify
If the user continues to view the site, the site URL returns to the expected MCMS 2002 hierarchical URL.
CAUSE
This is caused by the way MCMS 2002 ISAPI filter interacts with the Microsoft .NET Framework when it is decoding the URLs.
RESOLUTION
There is currently no fix for this issue. However, the issue does not affect the ability of the Web server to serve pages.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
