FIX: Editor Cannot Access an Image in a Placeholder (330805)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Content Management Server (MCMS) 2002, you may notice a broken image in a placeholder during authoring.

CAUSE

The page uses a linked resource gallery item that has been deleted.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, locate the posting, and then insert the image again.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

When a resource gallery item is deleted, it is moved to the archive folder until all revisions that reference it are deleted from the database. Users who are not administrators do not have access to the archive folder and therefore cannot see resources that are linked to the deleted resource gallery item.

This differs from MCMS 2001, where a local backup copy is kept on each page.
