Internet Explorer 5.01 Dialog Box Does Not Show Update to SP3 After You Apply Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 (329831)

If you are running Internet Explorer 5.01 Service Pack 2 (SP2) on a Windows 2000-based computer, if you apply Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Windows 2000, the Internet Explorer version that appears in the About Internet Explorer dialog box may not be updated to Internet Explorer 5.01 SP3.
NOTE: To view the service pack version number, click About Internet Explorer on the Help menu.
CAUSE
This issue may occur if you apply one of the following security patches before you apply Windows 2000 SP3:
321232 MS02-023: May 15, 2002, Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer
323759 MS02-047: August 22, 2002 Cumulative Patch for Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer 5.01 SP3 is included with Windows 2000 SP3. If you use Internet Explorer 5.01, SP3 is installed when you apply Windows 2000 SP3. Although the Help About Internet Explorer dialog box incorrectly displays Internet Explorer 5.01 SP2, all the fixes that are included in Internet Explorer 5.01 SP3 are installed. This issue does not affect your ability to install any future security patches for Internet Explorer 5.01.
