SYMPTOMS
If you are on the second node (for example, VS02) of a
clustered environment, and you try to send a message to a distribution group
that is expanded on a dedicated expansion server, the message is not sent.
The following event ID error messages are logged on the expansion
server:

Description:
Categorizer encountered a hard error while
processing a message. The function 'ExpandRecipient' called 'HrDoRestrictions'
which returned error code '0xc0040557' (Some malformed property of the
recipient caused it to be NDRd).

If a user on the first node (for example, VS01) tries to send a
message to the same distribution group, the messages is sent as expected.
RESOLUTION
Cumulative Patch Information
To resolve this problem, obtain the March 2003 Exchange 2000
Server Post-Service Pack 3 (SP3) Rollup.

Hotfix Information
A supported fix is now available
