Discovery Data Manager Does Not Copy Processed Discovery Data Records to the Outbox for Copy to the Parent Site (328766)

SYMPTOMS

Discovery Data Manager (DDM) may not copy processed discovery data records (DDRs) to the outbox for copy to the parent site. The Ddm.log file may contain a report similar to the following report:
CDiscoverDataManager::SendItemToSite - Unable to create file E:\SMS\inboxes\ddm.box\outbox\IBIBNQWX.DDR
CDiscoverDataManager::ProcessDDRs_PS - Unable to forward to parent site
Additionally, there may also be a backlog of DDRs.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next SMS 2.0 service pack that contains this hotfix.
