The Fax transport failed to deliver the message to this recipient. There are not any fax printers available.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the Fax Mail Transport service has been inappropriately added to the client's Outlook 2002 profile. The Fax Mail Transport service does not work correctly with the SBS Shared Fax service. The Microsoft Shared Fax Mail Transport service is the correct Outlook 2002 service to install for a client uses the SBS Shared Fax service.

RESOLUTION

When you select a fax transport service for an Outlook 2002 profile on a client in an SBS 2000 environment, select the Microsoft Shared Fax Mail Transport service. This is the required Outlook transport for the Shared Fax client and the Microsoft Shared Fax service on SBS 2000.

To add the Shared Fax Mail Transport service to an Outlook 2002 profile:
  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Mail.
  2. Click E-mail Accounts. Click View or change existing accounts if you are adding the transport to an existing profile, or click Add a new e-mail account to create a new profile. Click Next.
  3. Click Additional Server Types, and then click Add.
  4. On the "Additional Server Types" page, click Microsoft Shared Fax Mail Transport, and then click Next. Remove the Fax Mail Transport service from the list of server types.
  5. On the E-mail Accounts page, click Finish.
  6. Click Close.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
