SUMMARY

On July 1, 2002 Microsoft announced that Visio Enterprise Network Tools (VENT), a Visio Professional 2002 add-in that provided advanced network diagramming solutions, was discontinued because of lack of customer demand.

Microsoft regularly evaluates its product offerings to make sure that customer needs are being met, and in this case Microsoft determined that the resources would be better invested in other ways to serve the network documentation and management needs of customers. Some of the functionality in Visio Enterprise Network Tools will be included in future versions of Visio, and some of the functionality will be included in a new network management product that has not been announced yet.

Customers who obtained Visio Enterprise Network Tools before July 1, 2002 can still access the Visio Network Center Web site to download additional network diagramming shapes and templates.
