SYMPTOMS

When you view Rich Text Format (RTF) documents by using the Pocket PC document viewer, bulleted items are shown with an extra indent if the paragraph length is longer than the view width and wraps to a new line.

CAUSE

When the Rich Ink control reads an RTF file, the control sets incorrect indents in all paragraphs whose style is bulleted.

RESOLUTION

This is a problem with displaying documents on only the Pocket PC. The file is not corrupted and appears correctly on systems other than a Pocket PC.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

You can see this problem in Microsoft Pocket Word if you store a document that contains bulleted paragraphs as an RTF file and you then reload the document.
