A "STOP 0x50" Occurs in Rdr.sys with the SRP Installed (325045)

SYMPTOMS

A "Stop 50" error may occur in Rdr.sys.

CAUSE

Rdr uses a fixed length for a string. This causes a problem if the origin buffer is smaller than the appropriate length and is on a page boundary.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem.
