PRB: Chat-Import DTS Fails When ChatConfig.xls Is Open (323004)

SYMPTOMS

When you open the file ChatConfig.xls, and then you run the Chat-Import DTS package, the package fails.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs so that you do not receive incomplete or corrupted data, which can occur if another user is editing ChatConfig.xls while the Chat-Import DTS package is running.

RESOLUTION

Close ChatConfig.xls, and then run the Chat-Import DTS package.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

Use the statusinfo table or the SQL job status to track whether DTS packages are succeeding.
