The PeopleSoft eBill payment benchmark measured transaction throughput in terms of customer bills paid per hour, in addition to client response times by using a standard data composition model. The testing was conducted in a controlled environment with no other applications running. The goal of this benchmark was to test the scalability and throughput of the PeopleSoft Internet Architecture. The benchmark simulated customers transferring funds online with sub-second response times. The server completed 191,694 payments in one hour on a Compaq ProLiant cluster.
