PRB: Synchronization Fails When There Are No Cluster Members (319575)

SYMPTOMS

When you type ac deploy /start in the Application Center 2000 Command Line tool to perform a full synchronization, you may receive the following error message:
"Application Center 2000 Command-Line Utility. (C) Copyright 2000 Microsoft Corp .

Parameter not correct.

The system returned the following error: One or more parameters or arguments are incorrect.

The parameter is incorrect. (0x80070057)"

CAUSE

There are no cluster members in the cluster.

RESOLUTION

Add one or more cluster members to the cluster.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

The ac deploy /start command performs a full synchronization of the cluster. If there are no cluster members in the cluster, the cluster cannot be synchronized.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior

To reproduce the problem, follow these steps:
  1. Reduce the cluster to one server (the cluster controller).
  2. At a command prompt, type ac deploy /start.
