OpenDSObject() Always Binds to a Primary Domain Controller in a Windows NT 4.0 Domain (319250)

SYMPTOMS

An OpenDSObject function call always binds to a primary domain controller. This behavior occurs on a Windows 2000-based client in a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0-based domain. When this problem occurs, user object queries are sent to a remote primary domain controller even if there is a local backup domain controller.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because an internal flag is not handled properly.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
