Kazaa.exe Causes an Error Message in Windows XP (318921)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to use the Sharman Networks "KaZaA" version 1.5 or earlier program, you may receive the following error message:
Crash caused by KAZAA.EXE!0x00072dc3 (KaZaA 1.3) -> Crash caused by KAZAA.EXE!0x00072dc3 (KaZaA 1.3) Kazaa.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
If the error message is still displayed and you want to see the data that the error report contains, click the click here link at the bottom of the message box. You then see error signature information that may be similar to the following:
   App name         App version  Module name  Module version  Offset
   -------------------------------------------------------------------
   Kazaa.exe  1.0.0.1       Kazaa.exe     1.0.0.1          00072dc3
				

CAUSE

This issue may occur when KaZaA causes a fault and shuts down.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, obtain and install the most current Windows Compatibility Update from the Critical Updates section of the following Microsoft Web site:
