SYMPTOMS

Windows 2000 does not support the removal of SCSI devices unless you notify the operating system by using a Control Panel tool or a third-party tool. If you remove a SCSI device without notifying Windows, you may experience computer-related problems.

CAUSE

If you remove a SCSI device without notifying Windows, input/output operations may not be able to properly finish.

RESOLUTION
