1 Introduction
This update allows you to run Microsoft Office v. X for Mac files and any 
standalone versions of Office v. X for Mac more securely on a network.

2 Installation

2.1 Requirements
To install the Network Security Updater, you must first run the Entourage
v. X - Hotmail Updater, which you can download from
http://www.microsoft.com/mac/download/officex/hotmail_forx.asp. You should
check to see that you have the latest version of Office v. X for Mac (full
suite, including Word v. X, Entourage v. X, PowerPoint v. X, and Excel v.
X) or any standalone version. If Entourage v. X is currently not installed
on your computer, you do not need to run the Entourage v. X - Hotmail
Updater.

Check version number
1. In the Finder, open the Microsoft Office X/Office folder.
2. Select the Microsoft Component Plugin file.
3. On the File menu, click Show Info.
4. If your version number is 10.0.1 (1407), then you are already using the
Entourage v. X - Hotmail Updater. If your version number is 10.0.0 (1311)
and Entourage v. X is installed on your computer, you need to run the 
Entourage v. X - Hotmail Updater before this Network Security Updater will
work.

2.2 Installing the update
Before you install:
     * Close all other programs.
     * Make sure you are running the updated version of Office v. X or a
standalone version. See the Requirements section of this Read Me for 
instructions on checking the version of Office v. X for Mac or standalone 
that you are running.

Install the update
1. Download the Network Security Updater file and save it to your hard
disk.
2. Double-click the file on your hard disk to begin the installation.
3. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

3 Frequently asked questions

3.1 How is Microsoft Office v. X for Mac vulnerable?
If you don't install this update, Office v. X or any standalone versions of
Office v. X for Mac might be vulnerable to malicious attacks on a network.

3.2 What does the update do?
The patch makes Office v. X and any standalone versions of Office v. X for 
Mac more secure from malicious network attacks.
