SYMPTOMS

The Flags attribute of the typelib element in an assembly manifest can be set only to restricted or null.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because there is no check for valid values for the Flags attribute.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows XP Service Pack 1.
