SYMPTOMS

When you are discovering a Lotus Notes (Domino) server directory or are trying to test the connection in a Lotus Notes Management Agent (MA), the process may block, and require the MA operator to provide the Lotus Notes password that corresponds to the active Notes ID file.

CAUSE

This issue may be caused by an incomplete configuration of the Lotus Notes MA, specifically if the Lotus Notes Add-in Setup program has not been run.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, run the MMS Lotus Notes Add-in Setup program. This program is found in the Microsoft Metadirectory Services (MMS) program group on the Start menu.
