SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to open an e-mail message in Microsoft Outlook that was sent as a TeamAssign e-mail message from Microsoft Project, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Openmail caused an invalid page fault in module openmail.exe at 0167:30015a7d

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if Outlook is not set as your default e-mail program.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, set Outlook as your default e-mail program. To do this, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Set Outlook as Your Default E-Mail Program from Within Outlook

  1. Start Outlook.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  3. In the Options dialog box, click the Other tab.
  4. Click to select the Make Outlook the default program for E-mail, Contacts, and Calendar check box.

Method 2: Set Outlook as Your Default E-Mail Program from Within Internet Explorer

  1. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  3. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Programs tab.
  4. In the E-mail list, click Microsoft Outlook, and then click OK.
