You do not receive a warning not to install ISA Firewall Client on ISA Server 2000 (313430)

SYMPTOMS

It is recommended that you do not install Firewall Client software on a computer that is running Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2000 at any time. However, when you try to install ISA Server Firewall Client software on an ISA Server 2000-based computer, you do not receive a message that warns you not to install Firewall Client.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem was corrected in ISA Server 2000 SP1.

When you try to install Firewall Client on a computer that is running ISA Server 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1), you receive a message that warns you not to install Firewall Client. Firewall Client is not supported or necessary on a computer that is running ISA Server 2000.
